The Government of India, through the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), has established the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) in Jais, Uttar Pradesh, on par with IITs under the Act of Parliament 54/2007. Empowered to confer degrees and conduct cutting-edge research, RGIPT has been accorded the status of "An Institution of National Importance" by the Parliament. Minimum Qualification (for all faculty positions):

PhD with first class or equivalent, with a strong academic record throughout.

Experience Criteria:

• Professor: 10 years teaching/research/industrial experience, with at least 4 years at the Associate Professor level.
• Associate Professor: Minimum 6 years teaching/research/industrial experience, with at least 3 years at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent.
• Assistant Professor, Grade-I: PhD with first class, with 3 or more years of teaching/research/industrial experience (excluding PhD).
• Assistant Professor, Grade-II (on Contract): PhD with first class, for a fresh PhD, the position will be on a contract basis for the first three years.

Additional Requirements:

• Applicants for Assistant Professor in engineering disciplines must possess a B.Tech degree.
• Applicants for Assistant Professor in Management must possess an MBA or relevant degree.

Age Limit:

Upper age limit is 35 years for Assistant Professor. Age relaxation may be considered in exceptional cases, and for reserved category candidates as per Government of India guidelines.

GUIDANCE FOR APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Candidates are required to provide details of their proposed, ongoing, and completed research projects. Additionally, a brief paragraph outlining your teaching philosophy and strategy, along with a list of national and international conferences attended, specifying your role, is essential.

If you have physical challenges, please furnish all relevant details and attach the necessary certificates. Faculty positions involve training at operating oil production units, both onshore and offshore, as well as refineries across all disciplines.

Applicants currently employed in Government, Semi-Government Organizations, or Institutions must submit their applications through the proper channel. Failure to do so requires the submission of a 'No Objection Certificate (NOC)' from their employer during the interview.

APPLICATION PROCESSING:

As this is a Rolling Advertisement, applicants can submit their online applications at any time on or after the opening date. The application processing by Departments/Centres/Schools occurs in two cycles each year, with deadlines typically on 30th June (First Cycle) and 31st December (Second Cycle) or as decided by the Institute.

Applications will be processed based on Institute requirements in specialized areas. Other relevant and suitable applications will be retained for consideration in the subsequent cycle.

Note:

The cutoff date for the December 2023 cycle is 31st January 2024.
